Planned Giving Options

Planned giving to Sky Foundation is a thoughtful and strategic way to make a lasting impact on a mission very near and dear to many, eradicating pancreatic cancer, through innovative medical research.

By incorporating charitable donations into your overall financial planning, you ensure a legacy of support to Sky Foundation. It will allow you to optimize tax benefits and potentially reducing estate taxes. It also enables Sky to plan for the future and make positive impacts in its fight against pancreatic cancer. Whether through bequest, life insurance policies, or charitable trusts, planned giving provides you a meaningful and enduring way to support your causes forever.

Below are some examples of ways to give. Feel free to reach out to Sky Foundation and Ellen Kasselman at ekasselman@skyfoundationinc.org with any questions you may have.

BEQUESTS:

This is a designation in your will or trust in which you direct a certain amount or percentage of your estate to be gifted to Sky Foundation. This can be in the form of cash, stock or property. Bequests can support the general donation fund or can be designated to a new or established endowment. Either are amazing ways to leave a legacy to ensure that funds are continually available to provide ongoing, impactful support of Sky into the future. To leave a bequest to Sky Foundation, please add the following language to your will or trust:

             Unrestricted Bequest

I give, devise, and bequeath to Sky Foundation (a) the sum of              $___________, or (b) ______% of my estate to be used for the benefit of the mission of Sky Foundation as the organization may determine.

              Restricted Bequest

I give, devise, and bequeath to Sky Foundation, (a) the sum of $________ or (b) ______% of my estate to be used for the benefit of Sky Foundation as the organization may determine or (b) for the purpose(s) of _________________________________ or if such use, in the judgment of Sky Foundation is or shall become impracticable or unwise, then for such purpose(s) as the organization shall determine.

We will provide you with the EIN and other tax information necessary to ease the transfer.

Because bequests and estate giving are planned gifts, we would love to recognize you now for your future gift intentions. Please consider letting us know of your intentions by contacting Ellen Kasselman at ekasselman@skyfoundationinc.org.

STOCK GIFTING:

Gifts of stock are easy to transfer to Sky Foundation and may make your charitable dollars go further. Appreciated securities held more than one year may allow you to avoid capital gains tax while also receiving a tax deduction for your gift. Please contact Ellen Kasselman at ekasselman@skyfoundationinc.org to provide the information for your broker to directly to transfer your stock to Sky Foundation.

IRA ROLLOVER:

If you are 70 ½ or older you may also be interested in a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals. The IRA charitable rollover allows taxpayers to make tax-free charitable gifts of up to $100,000 per year directly from their Individual Retirement Accounts to eligible charities. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Sky Foundation. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.

LEGACY GIFTS:
