Brittany Hartwell, PhD
About the research
Dr. Brittany Hartwell is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Her immunoengineering lab combines biomolecular engineering, drug delivery and immunology to build molecular platforms that target specific cells and tissues of the immune system, with a focus on tuning mucosal immunity, from immunotherapies for autoimmune disease to targeted vaccines against cancer and infectious diseases. She received a 2022 Michelson Prize and a 2025 PhRMA Foundation Faculty Starter Grant in Drug Delivery. She trained with Dr. Darrell Irvine at MIT and earned her PhD at the University of Kansas.
