Educating the general public about the pancreas and pancreatic cancer is an essential component of Sky Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness about the disease. To this end, the foundation has produced two award-winning videos to capture people’s attention and share important health information.
The first is: “Do YOU Know Where Your Pancreas Is Located?”
In this video an interviewer dressed in a purple SK t-shirt, quizzes passersby about the pancreas. The goal of the video is to educate viewers on the primary function of the pancreas, identify what the organ looks like, and tell where it is located in the human body. Viewers also learn that November is Pancreas Awareness Month and that purple is the color for pancreatic cancer awareness.
Participants – those quizzed by the interviewer – play Pin-the-Pancreas-on-the-Person, among other games.
The second video, posted below, is: “The Sky’s the Limit.” Set up as a game show, contestants are asked questions that reveal important information.
